6 Steps to Find Good Daycare
1. List your priorities
First, decide what you want. Are you looking for daycare near work? Or would one closer to your home be more convenient? Do you want your child around lots of other kids, or just a few like in a home daycare?
2. Do your research
Ask around to find the most reputable daycares. Friends and family can help get the word out for you, and personal references are the best kind.
Fort Worth Day-Care Driver Arrested after Child Found Alone
A 4-year-old boy was found wandering and crying in a Fort Worth neighborhood, after being left alone in a day-care van last week, police reported. The day-care worker who was driving the van has been fired while state regulators investigate. Shirley Robinson, who worked for Rozzette’s Child Care Center, was arrested after the boy was found. She was released after posting bail.
Daycare worker diagnosed with meningitis
Swine flu isn’t the only thing parents have to worry about when they drop their little ones at the daycare center. A worker at an Okalahoma City daycare center was recently diagnosed with the bacterial disease, meningococcal meningitis.
The Oklahoma City-County Health Department sent out a letter to parents at the Childtime Learning Center. The daycare found out last Wednesday and immediately notified the health department to make sure everyone's protected.
Daycare owner charged with sexual assault
Prosecutors charged Pete Ampudia, 49, with two felony counts of sexual intercourse without consent and three counts of felony sexual assault. He allegedly inappropriately touched two 5-year-old girls who attended the Little Engine That Could daycare center in Columbia Falls, Montana between April 2003 and April 2008.
Ampudia and his wife had operated the daycare out of their home since August 1996. His wife still operates the daycare center, although Ampudia is not permitted to be there when children might be present.
Daycare aid held in jail
Denver Police said they began investigating 31-year-old Johnny Duran last week when allegations were made involving inappropriate touching of a child at the Auraria Early Learning Center in Denver, Colorado. Investigators do not know if more children are involved. Duran worked as a student aide at the daycare for the past year-and-a-half. He has not been formally been charged, but is being held in jail.

News from Philly.com posted online today that Concetta Jackson had a pedofile boyfriend whom she allowed to put camera's in bathrooms to video tape children in her care as well as handed over 12 children to him.
Are unvaccinated kids on their way to daycare?
The Texas Department of State Health Services has passed an emergency rule and your kids may be on their way to a room full of unvaccinated children. Schools can provisionally let students enroll even though they do not have their shots. That includes meningitis, tetanus/diphtheria and chickenpox vaccines.
