According to an article on WFAA.com, an infant was abducted earlier this month from a Houston daycare center.
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services closed down the Mothercare center for 10 days and intends to revoke the center’s permit. The abduction occurred on April 11 by a 21-year-old employee of the center.
Luckily, Houston Police recovered the child from the employee’s apartment hours later. It was later revealed that the daycare center did not request a criminal background check or fingerprint check on the employee prior to employment. It’s an unfortunate fact that daycare abuse is on the rise throughout the nation, and even in our home state of Texas. If you or someone you know has been involved in a case of daycare abuse, you should contact a day care abuse attorney to find out if you may have a case.
