CYPRESS, TX (05/10/2016) — A reported case of child abuse has lead to an investigation at a KinderCare Daycare as of Tuesday.
Authorities reported that the Bear Creek KinderCare Daycare, located in the 17500 block of West Little York in Cypress, Texas, is under investigation after allegations of child abuse came to light on Tuesday.
The mother of a 4-year-old girl, only identified as Robin, stated that her daughter’s neck was squeezed by one of the daycare workers.
“She said mommy she squeezed my neck. And I said show me how did she do it. She said she squeezed my neck like this and it hurt. I asked did you cry, and she said yes ma’am,” Robin said.
After listening to her daughter’s story, Robin spoke with the director of the facility who launched an investigation. It appears that Robin’s daughter along with a 2-year-old boy—who has delayed speech development and is unable to speak—were both allegedly physically abused by the same caretaker.
Both mothers have filed a report with the sheriff’s office.
A KinderCare spokesperson released the following statement:
“We are working closely with Licensing and the Harris County Sheriff as they conduct their own investigations and as WE look into the issue. The teacher involved won’t return to the center until all of the investigations are complete.”
As the investigation continues, The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has encouraged other parents to report any cases of abuse to the Crimes Against Children Division.
