Jefferson Bell of Gansevoort, NY will serve five years in prison and be registered as a sex offender after pleading guilty in a day care sex abuse case.
Bell was arrested in July 2007 for inappropriately touching a 5-year-old boy in 2005 at an uncertified day care provider. Bell was not an employee of the child-care center, but lived nearby and was a friend of the provider. Further investigation of potential criminal wrongdoing by the provider is expected, as well as potential civil litigation.
