Julia Castillo showed up to pick up her son at an early learning center in Rhode Island. She wound up frantically beating on the doors and trying to get in because she found the center locked. No one was there and she relied on a nearby neighbor to help her gain access to the center where she found her son in a crib in tears. He had been left alone for over 45 minutes. The state Department of Children, Youth and Families has put the center on probation. I’m not sure what comfort has been provided to the mother and son.
